A countertop that fits your kitchen. Not a catalog spec adjusted to approximate it.
We template on site, fabricate to your dimensions, and install it correctly.
Tile is one of the most durable surfaces in any bathroom. Installed correctly, it lasts decades. Installed incorrectly, it fails slowly and visibly — and the only fix is to take it out and start over.
We install bathroom tile for floors, walls, and shower surrounds. Every job starts with a layout plan and ends with lines that are straight, grout that’s consistent, and surfaces that are watertight.

Portland kitchens are rarely perfectly square.
In new construction, walls are plumb, corners are 90 degrees, and standard cabinet runs are close enough to standard countertop dimensions that the fit is workable. In a Victorian or Colonial that’s settled over a century, the geometry is less reliable.
A countertop templated on site — with the actual angles, the actual dimensions, the actual wall conditions — fits the room. A countertop cut to nominal dimensions and adjusted in the field has gaps, overhangs, and caulk lines doing work they shouldn’t have to do.
We template on site. Every time.
Choosing the right countertop for your kitchen
Granite Natural stone with character — every slab is unique. Granite is hard, heat-resistant, and durable when properly sealed. In a Portland Victorian or Colonial, natural stone has an appropriate weight and presence. It looks like it belongs.
Quartz Engineered stone — consistent color and pattern, non-porous, no sealing required. Quartz is the most practical choice for a kitchen that gets daily, heavy use. A wide range of styles, including options that read as natural stone without the maintenance.
Butcher Block Warm, functional, and well-suited to older New England homes. Butcher block requires more care than stone — it needs to be oiled, kept reasonably dry — but in a kitchen that fits the period of a Portland home, it looks right in a way that engineered materials sometimes don’t. Works particularly well as an island surface alongside stone perimeter counters.
Laminate Better than its reputation. Modern laminate, well chosen and correctly installed, is durable and sharp-looking. For homeowners working within a budget constraint, laminate is a legitimate option.
Other Options Soapstone, solid surface, concrete. We’ll talk through what fits your kitchen and your priorities.
The practical questions first.
How heavily do you cook? Do you have young children? What’s your tolerance for maintenance? What does the rest of the kitchen look like? What’s your budget?
We ask before we recommend. The countertop that looks best in a showroom isn’t always the countertop that works best in your kitchen. We help you make a decision you’ll still be satisfied with in ten years.
What to expect
Template We measure your kitchen precisely — every run, every corner, every angle. Cutouts for your sink and cooktop are marked to spec.
Fabrication Your countertop is cut to your template. Not adjusted to fit. Cut to fit.
Installation We set and secure the countertop, seal the edges and seams, and ensure everything is level. The sink and faucet go back in, the cooktop drops into its cutout, and the kitchen goes back into service.
Cleanup Stone fabrication creates dust and debris. We contain it during installation and clean up completely before we leave.
